Join us for Just a Walk – a free community walking program! Each event is led by a local healthcare advocate/provider, and is open to people of all ages and abilities. Take a Step Toward Better Health at Walk with a Doc
WALK
Walking is one of the best things you can do for both your physical and mental health! At each event, you’ll have the opportunity to walk at a pace and distance that you’re comfortable with.
LEARN ABOUT HEALTH
Each event starts with introductions. We’ll then start the walk, meeting new people and starting new conversations about health and wellness. About half way through the walk, we’ll stop and talk about the “health topic of the month”. Our goal is to get active, educate and empower individuals in learning and taking an active role in their health and wellness journey. You’ll also have the opportunity to chat with the leader and ask questions during the walk.
MEET NEW PEOPLE
Research shows that socializing with others is extremely important for our health. Bring a friend or meet a new friend at the walks.

October Heart Walk: Blood Pressure Awareness
Join us for our October Just Walk, powered by Walk with a Doc, as we walk, talk, learn, connect, and explore how our everyday choices can support healthy blood pressure and heart health.
High blood pressure often develops without obvious symptoms, which is why knowing your numbers is so important. This month’s discussion will cover how blood pressure is measured, what the numbers represent, factors that influence blood pressure, and why appropriate blood pressure management is important for long-term cardiovascular health.
Regular physical activity supports heart and blood vessel function; a nutritious, predominantly whole-food diet can support healthy blood pressure; restorative sleep and stress management help regulate the body’s cardiovascular and nervous-system responses; positive social connection supports overall well-being; and avoiding risky substances, including tobacco, protects the heart and blood vessels.
Come as you are, bring water and comfortable walking shoes—and since it’s Halloween morning, costumes and a little Halloween spirit are welcome!
